The Open Talent session on "Lighting up the darkness",with lighting designer Anne Bureau, will take place in the Roca Barcelona Gallery (c/Joan Güell 211, Barcelona) on Thursday 17 September 2015, at 7.30 pm.

How do we represent darkness? How do we illuminate dark things? These are some of the questions that the lighting designer Anne Bureau will be discussing in this lecture, during which she will consider plastic icons of darkness, such as the paintings of Pierre Soulages, the French painter, engraver and sculptor, also known as "the painter of black" and even the helmet worn by Darth Vader (Star Wars).

The speaker

Anne Bureau opened her lighting design studio in Paris in 1995. In 2011, she partnered with Nicolas Marquette to create the Wonderfulight studio, located in Bordeaux. Wonderfulight works in all areas in the field of lighting design.

Anne Bureau is a professional member of the IALD, ACE, ILA, and gives lectures worldwide. She is part of the steering committee of the EILD - the Latin American Design Lighting Forum.

Her lighting projects include the Vincent Van Gogh Foundation in Arles (2014); DS World in Paris (2013); the Musée Galliera in Paris (2013); Puilaurens Castle in Lapradelle-Puilaurens (2012); the Musee de l'Orangerie in Paris (2006); the castle and village of Fougères-sur-Bièvre (2006); Lighting of the old quay and the bridge over the Dordogne river in Argentat. (2004).

Lighting Design lecture series

This paper opens the lecture series within the Master's degree in Lighting Design. Architectural Lighting Design in this new academic year, program, sponsored by Artemide, Flos, Erco, iGuzzini and Lutron, leading companies in residential lighting.
