The increased importance of IT systems in businesses today has been a real boost to the careers of professionals working in ITC departments. Before IT professionals merely assisted business processes in companies, now they have the challenge of efficiently managing IT projects that only continue to grow in number and scope. Management of a project portfolio in a company is as fundamental now as it was before, but before it was based on excellence in management of one project at a time. This is why the decisions that are made in the ITC department must be in line with the needs of the business and need to be beneficial for both the business and the ITC department.

Up until recently the goal of the ITC department was only to manage information (volume, integrity, security, broadband, response time). Nowadays, the technical aspects are still very important but this department has had to adapt to technological development and start providing assistance to business objectives and management of project portfolios in companies. This means that IT departments now govern business processes, from the receipt of orders to the prioritisation and assignment of human and financial resources within the company.

IT professionals today must know how to use ITC tools that can properly manage services as well as innovation. This program is aimed at professionals who are seeking to complement their management training in IT projects, Project portfolio management, IT governance and service management and engineering.


  • Learn to manage IT projects and process quality control and product during project implementation.
  • Understand the IT management aspects that are specific to a service organization, and have the general knowledge of service systems and the ability to understand the software as a service.
  • Study the set of activities involved in IT governance, a key factor in organizations faced with managing a portfolio of projects and their relation to the management of the organization

    Industrial Engineer, Doctor in Computer Science, Professor, Department of Engineering Services and Information Systems at the UPC. Professor of Software Engineering and Project Management in the FIB-UPC for more than 35 years. He has been Dean of the FIB and Vice Chancellor of the UPC. Currently working with the UPC School and member of the scientific committee of ACIE.

Master's degrees issued by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official or recognized university degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree or diploma. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

Virtual Campus
The students on this Master's degree will have access to the My_Tech_Space virtual campus, an effective work and communication platform for students, lecturers and course directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space allows students to find background material for their classes, to work in teams, ask their lecturers questions, consult their marks, etc.
Employment service
Students can access job offers in their field of specialisation on the My_Tech_Space virtual campus. Applications made from this site will be treated confidentially. The enrolment fee can be paid:
- In a single payment to be paid within the deadline specified in the letter of admission to the programme
- In two instalments:
  • 60% of the amount payable, to be paid within the deadline specified in the letter of admission to the programme
  • Remaining 40% to be paid up to 90 days at the latest after the starting date of the programme
