El negocio marítimo y el sector portuario son, actualmente, dos de los sectores económicos en desarrollo. Un elevado porcentaje del comercio de mercancías se transporta por vía marítima, este hecho está convirtiendo a los Puertos y a sus ámbitos de influencia, en uno de los motores de desarrollo económico mundial. 

Una parte importante de la actividad portuaria está concentrada en las operaciones portuarias. La creciente complejidad de estas operaciones, junto con el uso de equipos cada vez más especializados, la realización de fuertes inversiones y especificaciones en materia de seguridad, determinan que es necesario un nuevo perfil profesional con una mayor formación.

Actualmente, nos encontramos que los profesionales del ámbito portuario provienen de disciplinas muy variadas, ya que no existe una titulación específica que de respuesta a la pluridisciplinariedad de este entorno. El programa de Dirección de Operaciones Portuarias, único en el ámbito español, contribuye a la formación específica de estos perfiles profesionales.

Who is it for

El postgrado se dirige a personas con experiencia en el entorno portuario, que quieran mejorar su perfil profesional. Empresas estibadoras, consignatarias, transitarias, aduanas, navieras y profesionales de terminales portuarias.

También se dirige a titulados y estudiantes de último curso de diversos ámbitos:

- Náutico - Marítimo - Portuario: Ingeniero Naval, Ingeniero Técnico Naval. Licenciado en Náutica y Transporte Marítimo en Máquinas Navales. Diplomados en Navegación Marítima y en Máquinas Navales.
- Ingeniería o licenciaturas científico técnicas: Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos. 
Ingenieros de otras especialidades.
- Economía: ADE, Economía, Empresariales, etc.

Degree
Postgraduate diplomas issued by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official or recognized university degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree or diploma. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

Virtual Campus
The students on this Postgraduate course will have access to the My_Tech_Space virtual campus, an effective work and communication platform for students, lecturers and course directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space allows students to find background material for their classes, to work in teams, ask their lecturers questions, consult their marks, etc.
Employment service
Students can access job offers in their field of specialisation on the My_Tech_Space virtual campus. Applications made from this site will be treated confidentially. Hundreds of offers appear annually of the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development Employment service .The offers range from formal contracts to work placement agreements.
