This postgraduate course can be attended as part of the master's degree Landscape Architecture Extended.

The graduate Course program is offered in response to a need to provide architects, and professionals related to the study of the territory, additional instrumentation suitable for the design of the landscape, in the specific subject of public space treatment. The course will be a choice of analysis and intervention on the landscape in a different way from the most common, derived from the study of the territori on a larger scale.
The demand for such studies is large and growing, and requires the proposal of a program like the one presented in order to output the current awareness of the landscape theme.

Aims

The academic objective responds to the current awareness regarding landscape issues and environmental intervention, in which different disciplines converge, some directly involved with the aesthetic and technical aspects of the intervention: the landscape, architecture, urbanism; others linked to civil engineering, agriculture and forestry; and other with scientific training in the fields of environmental science or planning to geography, economics, law, etc.
The master focuses on the design of the intervention and protection planning, but also in the transformation in natural and artificial landscapes. That is, in the design of parks and public spaces in the treatment of spaces that need to improve, be protected and restored, specifically in coastal systems and river areas, in the management and planning of the natural environment, and in environmental management when subjected to changes of use that substantially modify the area, as in the new agricultural and tourist areas.

Who is it for

The postgraduate course is aimed to young professionals who show interest in the landscape, especially in landscape graduates, university graduates in fields such as architecture, agronomy, geography, biology, engineering, etc. and graduates interested in landscape intervention.
Alternative also addresses to professionals trained in technical careers, that have followed their own training profiles related to this field (study abroad, postgraduate courses ...) sensitized by the intervention in the landscape.
It is aimed to young professionals and Spanish and foreign graduates who want to upgrade, recycle, deepen or broaden their education in the fields of instrumentation of design and landscape management. The studies facilitate the incorporation in interdisciplinary teams interested in this professional profile, with prior related training.

Taller A2. El Proyecto del Espacio Público
9 ECTS. 63 teaching hours.
The second module of the workshop Public Space Project, which takes place over a period of six weeks. The emphasis is on the strategy of details, looking at things on the small scale found in urban public spaces.

The first module of the Masters is The Public Space Project and the duration of the course is six weeks. It's an introduction to the urban context particularly in the public spaces in the city of Barcelona, and addresses the urban planning and strategies in the public space area.
The UPC School reserves the right to modify the contents of the programme, which may vary in order to better accommodate the course objectives.

  • Bellmunt Chiva, Jordi
    Architect by the School of Architecture of Barcelona - ETSAB architect in 1980, since 1982 is professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (UPC). Since 1987 is Professor of the Master of Landscape Architecture (UPC) and since 2000 is its director. From 2000 to 2006, is director of the Higher Certificate in Landscape of the UPC. It is part of the scientific committee of the Paesaggio Architettura journals, Paisea, PaiseaDos, Paysage, Kore and Paisajismo. He is a member of the scientific committee of EURAU'08 (European Congress of Architectural and Urban Research), 'Paisajes 08' and Expopaisaje 2014. Organizes the six European Landscape Biennials of Barcelona. Is a visiting Professor at various university campuses worldwide. He works as an architect and landscape designer. Exhibits and publishes his work in various specialized media and books and articles. He has won major awards throughout his career.

  • Blasco Lazaro, Óscar
    Licenciado en Arquitectura por la ETSAB, Máster en Arquitectura del Paisaje (UPC). Arquitecto especialista en proyectos urbanos y paisaje en diversas administraciones públicas. En 2005 forma el despacho SCOB Arquitectura y Paisaje con Sergi Carulla, el trabajo del cual está dedicado principalmente a desarrollar proyectos de espacio público y paisaje. Ha obtenido premios en concursos de arquitectura y paisaje como el 1er Concurso de Paisajismo Santa & Cole de la Biennal Europea de Paisaje. Su trabajo fue expuesto en las 5 últimas ediciones de la misma Biennal y está publicado en diversas revistas especializadas. Profesor del MAP, ha sido profesor invitado en la Università di Roma LaSapienza.
  • Carulla Altadill, Sergi
    Licenciado en Arquitectura por la ETSAB, Máster en Arquitectura del Paisaje, actualmente realiza el Doctorado del DUOT-ETSAB. Arquitecto especialista en proyectos urbanos y pasaje en diferentes administraciones públicas durante más de 10 años. El 2005 forma el despacho SCOB Arquitectura y Paisaje con Oscar Blasco, dedicado al desenvolupamiento de proyectos de espacio público y paisaje. Premiado en concursos de arquitectura y paisaje, Premio Diputació de Barcelona (2006) a la categoria de espacios exteriores y 1er Concurso de Paisajismo Santa&Cole de la Bienal Europea de Paisaje. Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en las 5 últimas ed. de la misma y publicado en diveras revistas especializadas.
  • Cervera Alonso de Medina, Marina
    Arquitecta por la ETSAB, graduada superior en Arquitectura del Paisaje (UPC) y Máster en Urbanismo (UPC). Guardonada con varias becas (Fundació Mies van der Rohe, 2001; Fundació Caixa d'Arquitectes, 2002; ha trabajado para Ateliers Jean Nouvel (París), el CRPP y la Oficinal del Paisaje del COAC. Des de 2003 compagina su actividad docente e investigadora con su propio estudio profesional con sede en Barcelona dedicado al urbanismo, a la arquitectura y la arquitectura del paisaje. Actualmente enseña diseño urbano y paisajismo en el taller del Espacio Público del Máster en Arquitectura del Paisaje (FPC). Ex-secretária general de la IFLA-EU (2009-2014), directora del grupo de trabajo ECLAS-IFLA EU y coordinadora y miembro del comité ejecutivo de la 4a-8a Biennal de Arquitectura del Paisaje de Barcelona
  • Fiol Duran, Victoria
    Arquitecta por la UPC, Doctoranda del Departamento de Urbanismo y Ordenación del Territorio de la ETSAB. Ha colaborado en el Máster Universitario en Paisajismo y en el Máster de Arquitectura del Paisaje de la UPC desde el 2009 hasta la actualidad, y como Coordinadora del módulo en Intervenciones Paisajísticas en Zonas Urbanas y Turísticas del máster en Paisaje y Restauración de la Universitat de les Illes Balears. Colaboró en el Departamento de Urbanismo y Ordenación del Territorio de la ETSAB en diferentes proyectos. Posteriormente trabajó en el Departamento de Espacio Público de la AMB, realizando proyectos tanto a escala territorial como de espacio público. En la actualidad continúa el ejercicio profesional en su despacho Victoriafiolarquitectes, desarrollando proyectos en las disciplinas de la arquitectura, el urbanismo y el paisaje.

    Ingeniero de Caminos (UPC 1988). Doctor en Urbanismo (ENPC Paris I Sorbonne; 2002). Profesor de urbanismo en el Departamento de Infrastructuras del Transporte y Territorio (UPC). Director técnico exposición Mostra Cerdà. Urbs i Territori (1994). Comisario de la exposición Cerdà 150 años de modernidad (2010).

  • Pericas Bosch, Enric
    Arquitecto por la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona. Máster en Arquitectura del Paisaje. Ha sido arquitecto del Área de Proyectos Urbanos del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, responsable de la redacción de proyectos de espacio público en la ciudad de Barcelona. Ha sido Director del Servicio de Mobiliario y Elementos Urbanos del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, y Director de Proyectos Urbanos y edificación de la empresa Municipal ProEixample. Ha diseñado para empresas del sector diversos elementos urbanos, especializándose como diseñador industrial. Director Editor de Elementos Urbanos y de Paisaje de ESCOFET. Presidente de ADI-FAD Asociación de Diseñadores Industriales del FAD. Mantiene el ejercicio liberal de la profesión de arquitecto en la ejecución de obras de espacio público, edificación y diseño industrial así como la actividad docente.
  • Sardà Ferran, Jordi
    Arquitector por la ETSAB-UPC, donde es profesor des de 1990 de Urbanística y de Historia del Paisaje. Profesor del Postgrado de Jardineria de la Escuela de Agricultura de Barcelona (UPC) y del Máster Universitario en Paisajismo (MUP-ETSAB). Alumno y profesor del curso de Postgrado de Arquitectura del Paisaje de la ETSAB. Profesor des de 2007 de Proyectos y Urbanismo de la Escuela de Arquitectura de Reus (URV). Ha sido vocal de Cultura del COAC (2003-2006) y, en esta condición, miembro de la comisión ejecutiva de la III y IV Bienal Europea del Paisaje de Barcelona. En su estudio trabaja proyectos de paisaje, urbanismo y arquitectura.
