This lifelong learning course can be attended as part of the postgraduate course Bodyworks and Automotive Materials.

Shortly we will publish updated information about the new edition of this programme.

The aim of the course is to offer a comprehensive overview of the main bodywork internal components. The course details the economic, legal and technical requirements to be considered during the design, development, validation and manufacturing processes.


Students who pass this course will be able to:
- Know in detail the bodywork internal components as well as the technical requirements and materials considered during their design, development and manufacturing processes.

Who is it for

Graduate students in Automotive, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Product Design or equivalent.
Working professionals or experienced in the automotive industry.

  • González Benítez, Maria Margarita
    PhD in Science. Professor of Engineering Projects Department of the UPC. Specialist in design for the environment and sustainability tools must.

Teaching staff

  • Colet Gali, Juan
    Mechanical Engineer at EUETIB. Currently Head of Interior Finishing (trunk) at SEAT's Technical Centre. Head of Service of cockpit's preliminary plan and Door Mechanism Service. Over 25 year of experience at SEAT's R & D.
  • Funes Castillo, Raul
    Raúl holds a Bachelor Degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Industrial Electronics Engineering. He has worked in many engineering companies, and nowadays he works in the Technical Centre of SEAT as a haptic researcher.
  • García Saura, Maria Teresa
  • Peña Martínez, José
    Responsible for Console Panels and Climate at the Technical Centre of SEAT
  • Pérez Díaz, Manel
    Manel holds a Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and a Master Degree in Business Administration from EADA. He has held several positions at SEAT, such as Project Engineer, Head of Laboratory, Quality Director and Project Manager.
  • Rodríguez García, Alejandro
    Alejandro Industrial holds a Degree in Industrial Engineering, and a postgraduate Degree in "Bodyworks and Automotive Materials" (CARMAT), both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). After finishing his engineering studies, Alejandro has worked at SEAT. First, he worked as an IDIADA engineer in charge of developing plastic and metal parts, and later as SEAT staff responsible for the development and integration of the upper internal finishes: pilar linings, as well as imperial and related components.
  • Toyas Ruiz, Alberto
    Head of services of structures of seats, head restraints and safety. Alberto is also teacher of professional training in the schools of Granollers and Monlau

Lifelong learning diploma issued by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official or recognized university degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree or diploma. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

Virtual Campus
The students on this Lifelong learning course will have access to the My_Tech_Space virtual campus, an effective work and communication platform for students, lecturers and course directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space allows students to find background material for their classes, to work in teams, ask their lecturers questions, consult their marks, etc.
