On an international scale, he collaborates with the university program Cities in the XXI Century of SIT and the Latitude project of Goethe Institute.

Since 1991 he has been a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He is a deputy director of the Master's in Science and Technology of Sustainability (MCTS) at the UPC.
