Academic management

  • Roca Cladera, Josep
    Doctor in Architecture, UPC Professor. Director of the UPC Centre for Land Valuation Policy. The director of the Doctorate in Urban and Architectural Management and Valuation, which is unique in its kind in Spain as it combines the economic, legal, social and environmental processes involved in town and regional planning. He has written numerous articles related to the real estate economy, the analysis of territorial structures and the city. His most outstanding books focus on the theoretical analysis of the formation of land value and the practical application of valuation methods. Professor Roca is a leading figure in the Spanish and international sphere in the field of valuations, and especially those related to urban management processes. He has been a pioneer in Spain in teaching valuations at graduate level since from the appearance of master's degree courses in the early 1980s.
  • Arellano Ramos, Blanca Esmaragda
    Architect. Holder of a master's degree in Urban Management and Valuation from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. An associate lecturer at the Department of Architectural Constructions I of the ETSAB, a researcher at the Centre for Land Valuation of the Policy Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a member of the Urban Quality of Life and Sustainability research group. She has undertaken and directed research in the areas of urban planning, land and housing policy, and analysis of urban growth processes: Sprawl vs. Compact City, sustainable urban planning, sustainable mobility, public space, urban regeneration, civic culture, benefits and models of city management. She has held various public sector positions in the areas of housing, land, urban development and ecology, as well as regional and urban planning.

    Technical telecommunications engineer, higher electronics engineer and master's degree in Digital Dissemination from Ramon Llull University.
  • Giffinger, Rudolf
    Doctor of Geography. Lecturer in the Department of Territorial, Infrastructure and Environmental Planning, University of Technology of Vienna (TUVIEN). Expert in research on Smart Cities, urban and regional development analyst at the Regional Science Centre (SRF).

  • Puig i Boix, Josep
    Doctor in industrial engineering, specialising in energy technologies, and the holder of the degree in Environmental Engineering, Ecology and Environmental Management. Director of Ecoservices. Winner of the Poul Lacour Award at European Conference on Wind Energy 2001, and the European Solar Prize 2004 in the Solar Architecture category.
