The logistics sector is becoming a key player in the economic development of Spain. Over then next few years Catalonia will be considered the most important logistics platform for its region of activity, that is to say, all of southern Europe. An array of infrastructures that have created the proper conditions to help Catalonia become an important point of reference as a logistics centre is being built right now including: the expansion of the port and airport, the AVE extends service to Barcelona, and the Zona Franca and the Poligono del Prat are being promoted. And, if we look only 250 or 300 kilometres away, there are cities like Zaragoza or Valencia nearby, which provides Catalonia with an important strategic position. In light of all this it is evident that Spain needs professionals capable of designing, managing and applying new technologies to companie's logistics chains, distribution and transportation systems and logistics operators.
