Date: 10-10-2011
Timetable: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Location: Foment de les Arts i del Disseny (Plaça dels Àngels 5-6, Barcelona)

The Open Talent conference is scheduled to take place on Monday 10 October 2011, at 19:00 at the Auditorium of the 'Foment de les Arts i del Disseny' - FAD (Plaça dels Àngels 5-6, Barcelona): "Social Games, the key to success", by John Millar, product manager with the German-based company Wooga, leader in the development of videogames in digital environments and social networks.

Wooga is a company which was created in 2009, dedicated to creating social games for Facebook and iOS with a special focus on usability, innovation and quality contents for any age group. The company has grown exponentially and its Facebook games are now being enjoyed by more than 35 million active players each month; it is now one of the most important social game developer in the world.

Prior to his appointment as product manager at Wooga, John Millar used to develop videogames for one of the main references in the field: Gameloft. He has a long track record as a senior software developer and also happens to be a former student of the master's degree in The Creation and Development of Videogames.

John Millar's conference will be followed by a presentation of the projects that students from the master's courses in The Creation and Development of Videogames completed this past academic year 2010-2011. This is the sixth edition of this event whose main objective is to provide a unifying link between the students on the programme and a company specialised in the field of videogames. The students will be given the opportunity to defend their work and present it to major companies in the field, Wooga in this case.
