Date: 18-09-2019
Timetable: 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Location: Mitro BCN (c/ Pere IV, 90, Barcelona)

Wednesday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m., the Open Talent will take place at Mitro Bcn* (c/Pere IV, 90, Barcelona): "From Engineering to Poetry: Creating a Spatial Atmosphere in Architecture", by Andreas Schulz, founder of the lighting design studio Licht Kunst Licht.

The question “What is good lighting in architecture?” may be answered in many different ways. For us, successful lighting design works in harmony with the architect’s design intent and merges into a coherent, holistic solution. Engineering approaches are often required to create sleek and integrated lighting solutions. While this approach per se implies a subordinate role of the lighting designer and at first glance appears to confine him to developing a reduced and functional design, it is still possible to bring forward strong aesthetic ideas and contribute to shaping the “feel” of a building or exterior space.

The lecture will discuss strategies and design approaches aiming at maintaining both a unique hand-writing and high-quality level of lighting design to create unique, inspiring, poetical and aesthetically beautiful experiences.
