Date: 12-09-2019
Timetable: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Tech Talent Center (Badajoz, 73. Barcelona)

An Open Class is to be held at 07:00 PM on thursday 12-09-2019 at the Tech Talent Center (Badajoz, 73. Barcelona) on Masters in .

Some people say that the BIM is only for 3D models, or that it is only designed for construction and not for civil works. There are also those who argue that BIM is for plans and not for works, and others who claim that BIM is going to make engineering more expensive. Some people argue that it is not yet possible to work with open exchange formats, and others think that it will be years until they see real cases of BIM being applied in civil work.
And what if this open class showed us how much progress has been made in BIM for civil works with examples of its real application?

The speaker

Alex Garate is a BIM expert in civil works. He trained as a Civil Engineer and is a graduate in Environmental Sciences. He has more than 10 years of experience in structural engineering projects in the international arena. He is the director and founding partner of Ingreen Innovación, a company that is committed to technological and environmental innovation as a catalyst for change in the construction sector. He is currently involved in various processes implementing BIM for several organisations, including Spain's Ports administration company, the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana railway network, and TPF Getinsa Euroestudios.
