An Open Class is to be held at 06:00 PM on wednesday 25-09-2019 in the Aula LS6 del CITCEA-UPC - Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial de Barcelona (Av. Diagonal 647, Barcelona) on Masters in Smart Energy.

Which technologies are defining the evolution of electrical systems in terms of their generation, transport and distribution? How are they being integrated into electrical networks? What challenges do these transformations create, and how do they affect electricity markets?

Come and discover the challenges involved in the digitalisation of energy and the new trends in electricity markets in this session!

The speakers

  • Mónica Aragüés
The holder of a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the ETSEIB-UPC, with recognition from the EIT (European Institute of Technology) Innoenergy PhD School, and a lecturer at the UPC (Serra Hunter Reader). She coordinates the Endesa Red Chair in Energy Innovation at the UPC. Her work includes the operation and control of wind farms, photovoltaic plants, HVDC and HVAC transport systems, and micronetworks.

  • Íngrid Munné
The holder of a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona-UPC. A project engineer at the CITCEA-UPC in the area of energy and a doctoral student in Electrical Engineering, working on the development of local electrical markets to provide energy services and flexibility. Her research is focused on smart grids and electrical markets.
