Start   >  Open Talent  >  Open Talent "Reinterpretation of Light"
Date: 16-12-2019
Timetable: 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Location: Tech Talent Center (Badajoz, 73. Barcelona)

The Open Talent session "Reinterpretation of Light", with Stefan Diez, designer and founder of Diez Office, will take place at Tech Talent Center (c/Badajoz 73, Barcelona) on Monday 16th December at 7.30 pm.

Stefan Díez's projects, like many lighting projects, are the result of a search for a comprehensive method, rather than a specific product. In this lecture, Stefan Diez will present three projects with completely different approaches, based on their initial requirements and their evolution. However, they all provide the basis for the design of modern lamps, with an innovative and contemporary spirit.

The speaker

Stefan Diez grew up among the fourth generation of a family of carpenters, and these early ties with craftsmanship have had a profound influence on his development as an industrial designer. He studied industrial design at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, and founded his own studio in Munich in 2003. Since then, he has worked in various fields of design, ranging from furniture and tableware to industrial design, as well as designing exhibition for companies including Arita, Authentics, Burgbad, e15, Emu, Gandia Blasco, Hay, Magis, Moroso, Rosenthal, Thonet, Vibia, Wagner and Wilkhahn. Some of his products have received international design awards, including the Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, the IF Gold Award and the Red Dot Best of the Best Award. He has been a lecturer in industrial design at the Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna since 2018.
