An Open Class is to be held at 06:30 PM on thursday 10-02-2022 on Postgraduate in Artificial Intelligence with Deep Learning (Blended learning) and Postgraduate in Artificial Intelligence with Deep Learning (Online).
In this class we will offer an overview of deep learning architectures used for 3D analysis and reconstruction. Through a series of examples, we will explore a key idea: the representation chosen to describe 3D data (e.g. voxel grids, point clouds...) has a crucial impact on the performance of algorithms. Unfortunately, there is no go-to representation that meets all the requirements we might desire in every situation (e.g. lightweight, flexible...). We will consider some important tradeoffs between the most common representations, and suggest rules of thumb to pick a good match for some popular applications.
This open class will be held in English.
The speaker
Gil Triginer, Deep Learning Engineer at Crisalix.
DPhil in Atomic and Laser Physics at the University of Oxford. Graduated in Engineering of Telecommunications at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). In 2019, he joined Crisalix Labs as a deep learning (DL) researcher, focusing on applying DL techniques to the problem of 3D reconstruction.
The session will take place on-line using Google Meet.
As well, you can follow the Open Class using your mobile device by downloading the corresponding Google Meet application for your Android or iOS.
This event is open and free. To attend, please confirm using the "I Will attend". Limited places.
