The conference hall of Vertex building UPC will host the Open Talent session "Built to Scale: Tools and Techniques for Developing a 100+ Hours RPG", with Nick Pechenin, Lead Systems Designer at Larian Studios at 6 pm on Friday 11 November. The event will also host the presentation of the video game Erimos, the project developed by the students on the master's degree courses in video games and animation at the UPC School.
In this talk, we will explore the unique design challenges that arise when developing large-scale computer role-playing games that feature abundance of content and long playtimes. We will also take a look at the tools and techniques that systems designers at Larian Studios employed to tackle challenges of scale during development of Divinity: Original Sin II and Baldur's Gate 3.
The conference will be held in English.
