Start   >  Open Talent  >  Open Talent "Light and Matter: Architecture in the Treble...
Date: 13-06-2023
Timetable: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Ca l'Alier (c/ de Pere IV 362, 08019 Barcelona)

On Tuesday, June 13, at 7:00 p.m., in Ca l'Alier, a new session of the series of conferences on architectural lighting will take place. We will have the prestigious architect Elisa Valero as a speaker.

Light is a gift, like beauty, but to enjoy it you have to adjust to the rhythms of nature and learn, above all, to contemplate. We cannot, like the Little Prince on his planet, see the twilight whenever we feel like it. Through light, architecture is humanized when it guides man. In vernacular architecture and in the works of the masters of all times, there is always a lesson in light. These works show examples of how space is qualified through this intangible matter.

The speaker

Elisa Valero, architect and professor of Architectural Projects at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Granada.

Director of the research group Efficient Housing and Urban Recycling (RNM909) at the University of Granada. She has received various architecture awards in competitions and for built work, among which stand out: Swiss Architectural Award 2018 and Andalucía 2022 Award in the Construction and Innovation modality. She is the author of the following books: La teoría del diamante y el proyecto de arquitectura (2021), Light in Architecture, the Intangible Material (2015), La materia intangible: reflexiones sobre la luz en el proyecto de arquitectura (2004), Ocio peligroso: introducción al proyecto de arquitectura (2006) o Diccionario de la luz (2008), entre otros.
