Home   >  Open Talent  >  Open Talent "Light in Time"
Date: Monday 15-09-2025
Class schedule: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Tech Talent Center (Badajoz, 73. Barcelona)

On Monday, September 15, at 7 p.m., we look forward to seeing you at the Tech Talent Center (c/Badajoz 73-77, Barcelona) for a new session of our lecture series on architectural lighting. On this occasion, we will have the participation of the Dutch artist Herman Kuijer, who will give the lecture entitled “Light in Time”.

Through experiments, completed projects, and a theoretical introduction, Herman Kuijer will invite us to explore his particular concept of architectural lighting design, reflecting on light, color, and their evolution in public space over time.

This Open Talent will be held in English.

The speaker

Herman Kuijer is one of the most renowned lighting designers in the Netherlands. He graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in the 1970s and, in the 1990s, returned to the institution as a professor and coordinator in both undergraduate and master’s programs, while maintaining his artistic practice. Since 1978, he has worked as an artist specializing in public art projects, with interventions in cities such as Zutphen, Tilburg, Utrecht, and Eindhoven. Many of his works —such as those of the Marstunnel, the Parktheater, or the CC NL (Collection Centre of The Netherlands)— use light as a material to create sensory, reflective, and sustainable experiences. Currently, Kuijer remains active as an artist and conceptual light designer, developing works that combine color, time, and perception.
