On Wednesday the 20th March, at 7.00pm, the UPC School will host the Open Talent “Adventures in design-driven innovation: the benefits and dangers when design is at the helm” given by Christopher Grant, Barcelona Design Lead for Tuenti.
When a project contains the word “re-design” in its title, it is totally clear that the design team will be playing an important role. But what really happens when design drives a project? How is Tuenti, the social network with 15 million users generating 20% of all web traffic in Spain going to be redesigned? How can there be a product strategy that evolves in parallel with the current user needs, engineering requirements and the requirements from huge stakeholders such as Telefónica? How can one move beyond the “mobile first” concept to place the mobile experience at the very centre of web experience?
These are some of the questions Christopher Grant and his team had to deal with when they started redesigning Tuenti. At this Open Talent, Christopher will be explaining how they moved from blackboard sketches to developing a completely new website placing mobile first and making it intuitive and simple for users.
