At the same time, the end user is increasingly aware of the energy he consumes and the possible environmental impacts this entails. All this converges in the desire to incorporate distributed energy resources, analyze them and optimize their operation.
The Master's in Smart Energy provides a transversal view of the most innovative tools that allow optimizing the operation of smart electrical networks, managing the generation and/or electricity consumption of users and favoring the integration of distributed energy resources. This program also applies artificial intelligence tools with the aim of providing added value to the data generated by the electricity system. In addition, the functioning of the electricity markets and their regulatory framework, both at the national and European level, is explored in depth.
Throughout the program, technical and economic studies of energy projects will be carried out to thoroughly understand their implications, from planning to operation and their environmental impact. With monitoring, the application of artificial intelligence techniques and data analysis, practical cases will be worked on to apply this knowledge to the current energy field and find solutions to real problems.
The master's degree is supported by leading companies and research centers in the energy sector, which will enable the discovery of the key points in the digitization of energy and the new associated business models. The program also has international faculty with extensive experience in the development of renewable energy projects for the private sector.
Doctor in Electrical Engineer by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) focuses his research on the design and control of power electronics. As a Senior Project Manager at CITCEA-UPC, he leads cutting-edge Power Electronics and Drives initiatives. His expertise includes developing control strategies and power electronics for electric machines in EVs, renewable energy integration, induction heating, and drives. He possesses a strong background in designing electrical machines for various applications, such as drives, ventilation, hydraulics, and appliances.
