Why this programme?
The Master in Business Administration (MBA) enables participants to enhance and expand their knowledge of business management and improve their managerial skills and competencies by equipping them to secure jobs with responsibilities in organisations.

This programme is focused on understanding all the areas of a business. This Master is prestigious thanks to the quality of the curricular content, the excellence of its faculty and guest lecturers and the additional activities held.

The profile of participants is:
- The average age is 33.
- 90% have more than five years of professional experience.
- 50% have graduated from university in different branches of engineering and the remaining 50% have earned other Bachelor’s degrees or diplomas.

Students with more than 30 different nationalities have participated in the different editions of the MBA.
Aims
The Master in Business Administration (MBA) is a business training programme specifically designed for participants to acquire the following competences:
  • To understand the business as a whole and to acquire a global vision.
  • To understand the company’s environments, in particular the socioeconomic, labour and fiscal environments.
  • To acquire the ability to design, implement and manage a human resources policy.
  • To be introduced to the world of logistics and production (supply chain management).
  • To be introduced to the world of commercial, marketing and sales management.
  • To learn about the latest trends in quality assurance.
  • To acquire knowledge in project management, to understand the importance of innovation in companies, and to learn about information systems.
  • To improve students managerial, personal and interpersonal skills.
  • To understand the value of management and especially sound leadership in the company.
  • To apply the knowledge acquired theoretically and to gain an overall understanding of the complexity of the role of manager.
Who is it for?
Professionals from any sector with experience in executive, middle management and/or area leader roles who are interested in expanding their knowledge in order to improve their professional careers.

Business Game
During the third quarter of the course, the Business Game is taught, a course which is carried out in teams working with a business simulation programme. By taking decisions with the support of the instructor, this game enables all the topics studied to be reviewed and the business concepts learned during the Master to be applied as if it were in the real world.

Final Master's Project
The final master's project starts during the first quarter of the academic year. The working groups make a business plan. Each group has a supervisor assigned to it who will track the development of the project on a monthly basis. The project has to be defended in front of a jury at the end of the Master programme.
The UPC School reserves the right to modify the contents of the programme, which may vary in order to better accommodate the course objectives.
Degree
Special master's degree issued by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Issued pursuant to art. 34.1 of Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, amending Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December, concerning Universities. To obtain it, is necessary to have an official university qualification. Otherwise, the student will receive a certificate of completion of the programme issued by the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya.

Learning methodology

The teaching methodology of the programme facilitates the student's learning and the achievement of the necessary competences.

Learning tools
Participatory lectures
A presentation of the conceptual foundations of the content to be taught, promoting interaction with the students to guide them in their learning of the different contents and the development of the established competences.
Practical classroom sessions
Knowledge is applied to a real or hypothetical environment, where specific aspects are identified and worked on to facilitate understanding, with the support from teaching staff.
Visits
These visits are to specialist centres, companies in the sector or outstanding and important locations in the sector, in order to obtain knowledge in situ of development, production and demonstration environments within the programme.
Assessment criteria
Solving exercises, questionnaires or exams
Individual tests aimed at assessing the degree of learning and the acquisition of competences.
Completion and presentation of the final project
Individual or group projects in which the contents taught in the programme are applied. The project can be based on real cases and include the identification of a problem, the design of the solution, its implementation or a business plan. The project will be presented and defended in public.
Work placements & employment service
Students can access job offers in their field of specialisation on the My_Tech_Space virtual campus. Applications made from this site will be treated confidentially. Hundreds of offers appear annually of the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development employment service .The offers range from formal contracts to work placement agreements.
Virtual Campus
The students on this master's degree will have access to the My_Tech_Space virtual campus, an effective work and communication platform for students, lecturers and course directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space allows students to find background material for their classes, to work in teams, ask their lecturers questions, consult their marks, etc.

    Industrial Technical Engineer and International Master in Business Management MBA La Salle. He is currently a Operating Partner of an investment fund that buys industrial companies in various sectors. Member of the Board of Directors of several investee companies in the fund, in which he leads the implementation of transformation projects. He has accumulated an experience of more than 25 years in the industry (Automotive, Communication Groups and Printing in Graphic Arts and Fix Seating for public spaces).
  • Pérez Morencos, Sergio Antonio
    More than 20 years of experience in Information Technology. With a background in Computer Management, Project Management, Team Management and Digital Marketing, he specializes in software development and online marketing management. Master of Business Administration (MBA) by the UPC and Post-degree in Digital Marketing in ICEMD-ESIC. He is currently Director of the Barcelona Office of the Interactiv4 company dedicated to e-commerce projects and an independent consultant in Digital Transformation.
  • Viscarri Colomer, Jesús
    Doctorate in Business Administration and Management and Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). MBA from IESE Business School. Manager in the strategic planning and studies area at CaixaBank.

How to start admission
To start the enrolment process for this programme you must complete and send the form that you will find at the bottom of these lines.

Next you will receive a welcome email detailing the three steps necessary to formalize the enrolment procedure:

1. Complete and confirm your personal details.

2. Validate your curriculum vitae and attach any additional required documentation, whenever this is necessary for admission.

3. Pay €110 in concept of the registration fee for the programme. This fee will be discounted from the total enrolment fee and will only be returned when a student isn't admitted on a programme.

Once the fee has been paid and we have all your documentation, we will assess your candidacy and, if you are admitted on the course, we will send you a letter of acceptance. This document will provide you with all the necessary information to formalize the enrolment process for the programme.
