Why this programme?
The postgraduate in Real Estate Valuations: International Methods and Models emerges with international orientation, incorporating the criteria and procedures of the valuation following international standards, and more specifically, European ones. All this, in accordance with the regulation of financial markets, appeared after the global real estate crisis. In fact, the European Credit Directive imposes the need for workers in the financial sector, especially those related to mortgages, including the valuation sector, to have sufficient knowledge to provide adequate advice to clients, and points out how preferred the adoption of European valuation standards.

This postgraduate course provides the advanced content needed to acquire professional skills in real estate asset valuations, both in terms of valuation based on market criteria and the valuation referred to the calculation of the value of real estate for cadastral and mortgage purposes. in the study of the constructive elements of buildings, environmental regulation and its measurement, as necessary elements in the evaluation process.

The postgraduate course is organized by the Center for Land Policy and Valuations of the UPC, a reference in research and real estate teaching. It also has the support of the Spanish Association of Real Estate and Urban Appraisal (AEVIU) of which its members, recognized professional experts, participate as teachers in the program. Likewise, it has teaching staff directly linked to The European Group of Valuers' Associations (TEGOVA).

The program gives the knowledge so that students can obtain the Minimum Educational Requirements (MER), training requirement to accredit the Recognized European Values ​​(REV) of The European Group of Valuers Associations (TEGoVA).

Workshop on International Real Estate Valuations
A practical workshop is carried out, based on a real case study, to apply the knowledge that has been developed to the real estate valuation matters.
Degree
Postgraduate diplomas issued by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Issued pursuant to art. 34.1 of Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, amending Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December, concerning Universities. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

Learning methodology

The teaching methodology of the programme facilitates the student's learning and the achievement of the necessary competences.

The postgraduate teaching follow-up will be done through the My Tech Space virtual campus.

The Semi-Distance methodology will involve alternating between the realization of streaming sessions and one face-to-face session at the end of the course in Real Estate workshop.

Solving exercises
Solutions are worked on by practising routines, applying formulas and algorithms, and procedures are followed for transforming the available information and interpreting the results.
Case studies
Real or hypothetical situations are presented in which the students, in a completely participatory and practical way, examine the situation, consider the various hypotheses and share their own conclusions.
Workshops
Students are supported when undertaking group work, including theoretical sessions which provide the tools and knowledge needed to achieve a result. Ideas and results are exchanged between all the participating groups.
Advanced asynchronous communication
Systems that enable smooth and clear communication in any situation (video chats, forums, recorded lectures, etc.).
Streaming sessions
Synchronous online interactive open sessions will be planned. Professors attend these sessions and students pose questions and address their concerns. Synchronous sessions will be scheduled in calendar.
Work placements & employment service
Students can access job offers in their field of specialisation on the My_Tech_Space virtual campus. Applications made from this site will be treated confidentially. Hundreds of offers of the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development employment service appear annually. The offers range from formal contracts to work placement agreements.
Virtual campus
The students on this postgraduate course will have access to the My_ Tech_Space virtual campus - an effective platform for work and communication between the course's students, lecturers, directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space provides the documentation for each training session before it starts, and enables students to work as a team, consult lecturers, check notes, etc.

He is director of the Doctorate Course in Urban and Architectural Management and Valuation, a unique programme in Spain as it combines the economic, legal, social and environmental processes that underlie the planning of the city and the territory. He is the author of numerous articles related to the real estate economy, the analysis of territorial structures and the city. His most well-known books focus on the theoretical analysis of the formation of land value and on the practical application of valuation methods. Dr Roca is a national and international benchmark in the valuations field, and especially those related to urban management processes. He has been a Spanish pioneer in teaching valuations at the postgraduate level since the appearance of master's degree courses in the early 1980s.

The study of new methods of delimitation of real estate sub-markets and the impact of the urban structure on urban values ​​are also part of their interest, which translates into a wide collection of publications. He is a member of the Recognition Committee of The European Group of Valuers Associations, and of the Access and Evaluation Committee of the Spanish Association of Real Estate and Urban Appraisal.

He is the current secretary of AEVIU member of TEGoVA and acts as representative of the Association in events such as the XIX Sectoral Meeting on Valuation and Valuation of Assets, where he presented the paper "EVS and the REV Scheme".

He is an expert in residential, commercial, agricultural and intangibles valuation. He is president of Rick Borges Real Estate & Related Services Incorporated Enterprieses, whose business scope focuses on valuation, consulting, brokerage, brokerage, real estate development and real estate education studies. Its customers include companies of global relevance as Walt-Mart, numerous financial institutions such as JP Morgan, the US administration and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, among others.

Currently Senior Manager in PwC of the Real Estate Valuations group, and with 13 years of experience in valuations of assets and real estate companies for different purposes. He has developed a large part of his professional career in PwC and Deloitte, advising on the evaluation teams for the inclusion in financial statements of the audit teams.

How to start admission
To start the enrolment process for this programme you must complete and send the form that you will find at the bottom of these lines.

Next you will receive a welcome email detailing the three steps necessary to formalize the enrolment procedure:

2. Validate your curriculum vitae and attach any additional required documentation, whenever this is necessary for admission.

3. Pay €110 in concept of the registration fee for the programme. This fee will be discounted from the total enrolment fee and will only be returned when a student isn't admitted on a programme.
