Why this programme?
This module deals mainly with the issue of management in industrial maintenance. Therefore, aspects such as reliability, maintainability and availability of equipment and facilities are studied.
Economic management and technical management of maintenance will be dealt with in this module, accompanied by corresponding examples.
They also present the management of computer-aided maintenance, CMMS, with the corresponding practical application, as well as risk management. To emphasize, also the management of the control of an industrial warehouse.
Aspects such as subcontracted maintenance and the implementation of a total productive maintenance system, TPM, are part of the course.

  • To provide maintenance technicians with comprehensive knowledge in industrial installations and techniques to be able to avoid breakdowns using proper testing and diagnostics.
  • To offer the means and knowledge needed to resolve breakdowns quickly and safely.

Degree
Lifelong learning diploma issued by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Issued pursuant to art. 34.1 of Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, amending Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December, concerning Universities. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

Learning methodology

The teaching methodology of the programme facilitates the student's learning and the achievement of the necessary competences.

Learning tools
Participatory lectures
A presentation of the conceptual foundations of the content to be taught, promoting interaction with the students to guide them in their learning of the different contents and the development of the established competences.
Practical classroom sessions
Knowledge is applied to a real or hypothetical environment, where specific aspects are identified and worked on to facilitate understanding, with the support from teaching staff.
Case studies
Real or hypothetical situations are presented in which the students, in a completely participatory and practical way, examine the situation, consider the various hypotheses and share their own conclusions.
Assessment criteria
Attendance
At least 80% attendance of teaching hours is required.
Level of participation
The student's active contribution to the various activities offered by the teaching team is assessed.

Individual tests aimed at assessing the degree of learning and the acquisition of competences.

    Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He is currently Director of Development at Veolia in Catalonia. He has accumulated 20 years of experience in companies in various fields of engineering: construction, clinical maintenance, industrial operation and maintenance, energy efficiency, water treatment processes and renewable energies.
  • Alcalá Gómez, Juan Gabriel
    Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He currently works at CELSA, Compañía Española de Laminación, S.L.
  • Arqués Patón, Josep Lluis
    Doctorate in Industrial Engineering. Completed the General Management Programme at IESE. He has held the positions of Director of Technology and Management, Director of Technology and Maintenance and Technical Director at FGC, and Rolling Stock and RAMS Adviser at IDOM. He currently works as a Technical Expert at ENAC (the Spanish National Accreditation Company) in the field of safety and railway technologies.
  • Blasco Chabert, Marc
    Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and a Master's Degree in Facility Management from the La Salle International Business School. Founder, Owner and Manager of Simbioe Facility Management. Member of the Board of Directors and Delegate in Catalonia of IFMA (Facility Management International Association). He has more than 15 years of experience at Spanish and international level in services projects, audits, implementing information technology tools for the management and control of services, process efficiency and asset management. He has lectured on various master's degree and postgraduate courses in Barcelona and Madrid since 2001.

    Bachelor in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Barcelona. Doctor in Economics, Business and Finance from the Camilo José Cela University. Director of the Management Training Institute of Barcelona IFD.
  • Faro Ruiz, David
    Degree in Technical Telecommunications Engineering, and a Master's Degree in Industrial Maintenance and Diagnostic Techniques. ISO 18436 Certified Instructor by the Mobius Institute. Member of the Spanish Maintenance Association (AEM) with responsibilities as part of the Executive Committee, the training area and secretary of the Chemical and Process Engineering Committee. Since 2017, he has been the CEO and Founder of the company IntegraPdM, which is aiming to become a benchmark as an institution for certified training and the integration of predictive techniques and technologies.
  • Narbona Vicens, Sílvia
    Graduated in Pharmacy. She is currently Operating Department Director, a role that includes responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, validations and ratings of a strategic productive unit in the plant. She has accumulated more than 20 years¿ experience in the industrial area of the pharmaceutical sector as the head of various productive areas, maintenance, industrial project management, and operational excellence.
  • Ortí i Llop, Josep
    Degree in Industrial Technical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. General Management Programme, IESE. President of the buildings committee of the Spanish Maintenance Association (AEM), and a member of the board of directors of the Catalan Facility Management Association (ACFM). He has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in the Commissioning and Facility Management sector.
  • Torrell Martínez, Francesca
    Senior Telecommunications Engineer. Master's degree in Production Organisation and Engineering and Industrial plant Manager at (Engiplant). Consultant in Maintenance Management.
  • Trabalón Carricondo, Cristóbal
    Graduate in Industrial Engineering from the UPC. Graduate in Technical Industrial Engineering in Electricity and Mechanics from the UPC. Graduate in Law from the UOC. Arbitrator on the Technical Arbitration Tribunal of Catalonia (TATC). Accredited safety inspector of electrical installations and elevators. Head of legal engineering at TMB. Author of various books on maintenance, engineering and legal construction.

How to start admission
To start the enrolment process for this programme you must complete and send the form that you will find at the bottom of these lines.

Next you will receive a welcome email detailing the three steps necessary to formalize the enrolment procedure:

1. Complete and confirm your personal details.

2. Validate your curriculum vitae and attach any additional required documentation, whenever this is necessary for admission.

3. Pay €110 in concept of the registration fee for the programme. This fee will be discounted from the total enrolment fee and will only be returned when a student isn't admitted on a programme.

Once the fee has been paid and we have all your documentation, we will assess your candidacy and, if you are admitted on the course, we will send you a letter of acceptance. This document will provide you with all the necessary information to formalize the enrolment process for the programme.
