Why this programme?
The expansion of geoinformation over the Internet provides users with many opportunities to access and exploit it in order to create new applications in the field of geolocation.

This information is accessible both via standards adopted by the GIS industry and via documented web programming APIs.

A command of web programming languages, standard protocols for accessing geoinformation and the basic concepts of geolocation is therefore required.

The visualisation and treatment of the data is another basic point in clearly presenting data. It is necessary to know the formats, visualisation techniques and processing of geometries and geodata in web applications.

Aims
  • To obtain knowledge of the tools, format and technologies for processing and accessing geoinformation via the web.
  • To publish geographic data on the web.
  • To obtain knowledge of the standards and protocols for accessing geoinformation.
  • To apply basic knowledge of web programming language.
  • To configure map servers.
  • To create mobile web applications for web data visualisation.
Who is it for?
In theory, any professional wishing to work with data with a geospatial component is qualified to take the master's degree, and as such its students can come very diverse and numerous fields.
  • Graduates from social sciences degree courses fields such as economics, geography, politics, journalism, social sciences, archaeology, etc.
  • Graduates from scientific and technological degree courses such as physical and environmental sciences, biology, geology, topography, geodesy, etc.
