UPC School

The UPC has a clear commitment to collaboration in the automotive sector , as shown by the 10 editions of the Master MIGIA , 2 degrees of expertise in automotive, the existence of Chairs SEAT and Applus , postgraduate training in active safety and passive and body , automotive materials , etc . , the organization of conferences, seminars , conferences, etc. . and participation in R & D in different fields (materials, nanomaterials , electric vehicles , electricity and electronics , security, etc. . ) . The Government of Spain has opted for training and innovation as key elements for economic development and pays special attention to the automobile sector. The automotive sector is one of the main engines of the national economy , Catalonia being one of the main Spanish and European regions in terms of activity in this sector. The occupations most in demand by the industry technical profiles correspond to areas intended for R & D , design and engineering ( automotive sector report , CEAM 2010).

With specific reference to the contents of this postgraduate course , are missing , by the automotive industry professionals specialized in : the development of electrical system and wire harness in a vehicle, the different sources of energy, and management , to drive electric vehicles, electronic communication architecture , in some cases own and other adapted to the sector; analyze and reduce the susceptibility of components and parts to conducted or induced interference, the development of new electronic control units to reduce cost and weight of the vehicle; industrialization of plastics, specifically in the manufacture of lighting systems , among others detailed in the specific competencies of the program.

This situation forces the sector to hire specialists from outside our borders and / or professional training after recruitment , with the consequent use of resources without a comprehensive program of learning or a structure that facilitates the acquisition of knowledge and skills . Furthermore , continuous changes , tools , technologies, social requirements , legislation, etc. . , Advise that there is a curriculum for continuing education of professionals, keep up to date knowledge and facilitate innovation. It is noteworthy that Catalonia has the only center of automotive design in Spain , so the need for professionals with expertise in this area is critical and is not covered by the current academic offerings. In addition to the center, there are numerous regional providers and companies that are part of the automotive industry and whose competitiveness at national and international level depends largely on the value and contribute their professional training . Similarly no publications covering the development process of a vehicle as companies consider confidential and that makes independent learning .

Aims

The primary objective is to train people ELTICA be able to:

1. Identify, formulate and solve optimally problems in the electrical and electronic fields in an automobile.
Two. Understand the technologies, trends and the most common tools in this field.
Three. Conceive, design, implement and adopt research methods that lead to the generation of knowledge and innovation.
April. Knowing and applying existing technologies in the market as well as emerging technologies and acquire the skills necessary to propose applications
May. Understand and convey information-knowledge from scientifictechnical documentation.
6. Analyze and propose projects considering the different aspects of economic activity, with sustainability criteria.

  • Carod de Arriba, Xavier
    Doctor en Ingeniería de Proyectos por la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Licenciado en Química por la Universitat de Barcelona, especializado en Ciencia de Materiales. Colaborador de la Cátedra SEAT/UPC del 2007 al 2012. Profesor asociado en el Departamento de Ingeniería de Proyectos y Construcción de la UPC.
  • Escribà Murciano, Jordi
    Ingeniero Técnico Industrial en electrónica e Ingeniero en Organización Industrial por la UPC. Inició su carrera profesional como Product Manager en Groupe Schneider para posteriormente iniciar actividades en el sector de automoción dentro del Departamento de Desarrollo Eléctrico del Centro Técnico de SEAT. Actualmente es el responsable del grupo de gestión de Budget de proyectos del mismo departamento.

  • Baños Serradilla, Víctor

    Ingeniero Técnico Industrial especializado en Electrónica Industrial por la UPC. Actualmente trabaja en la empresa Centro Técnico de SEAT S.A. Como Responsable de la definición y desarrollo del HMI (Responsable de la definición de las interfaces gráficas y físicas para los vehículos SEAT (radio, navegador, cuadro de instrumentos, control por voz y mandos en volante). Dentro de esta área, he participado en el desarrollo de proyectos serie y de proyectos de investigación ubicados en el ámbito gubernamental del CDTI, Programa Europeo Marco y Vehículos concepto de saló). También ejerce como Profesor en el postgrado de la Cátedra SEAT-UPC ELTICA y realiza Exposiciones en asignaturas de la UPC.

  • Edesa González, Sergio
    Telecommunication Engineer by the ETSIT of the University of Valladolid. He worked in Daimler AG for 6 months developing CANoe simulations in Sindelfingen (Germany). Currently working in HIL projects for Bertrandt AG in Barcelona.
  • Ferrer Peretó, Josep
    Technical telecommunications engineer in the Electronics specialty and master's degree in telematics at the UPC. Since 1995 he works at SEAT Technical Center in the Electric-Electronic development department. From beginning he has participated in the introduction and development of CAN Bus in SEAT models as an analyst and trainer. He is currently responsible for the Team Architecture, Gateway and Diagnosis.
  • García Simeó, Miguel
    Telecommunications Engineer at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Since 2002 working in automotive sector, in infotainment field, with professional experiences in supplier companies as well as in car makers. Currently responsible at SEAT technical center for development of infotainment devices.
  • Geibel, Frank
    Licenciado en Ingeniería Electrónica (Regelungstechnik) por la Universidad Técnica de Darmstadt (Germany), Responsable de introducción de tecnología nuevas y taller de muestras en Continental Automotive Spain, S.A. en Rubí. Miembro de grupos tecnológicos y estandarización de Continental Corporation. Trainer para Lean Six Sigma y procesos de fabricación.
  • González Arbesú, José María
    Engineer and Doctor Engineer of Telecommunication from 1992 and 2000, respectively, both degrees from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). From 1994 to 2000 he joined the University of Zaragoza, as associate teacher and coordinator of the subjects of radio frequency, radar and satellite navigation systems. From 2000 to 2001 he worked at the company Tradia (nowadays AbertisTelecom) in his department of radio links as engineer of network Planning. From 2002 to 2007, he obtained a post-doctoral investigator grant from the Ramon y Cajal program. From 2008 he is an associated professor at the UPC. Your research activities include the characterization of antennas by means of infrared thermographies, the design and evaluation of small antennas, the system design of integrated antennas with surfaces of high impedance and the design of algorithms of optimization for the automatic synthesis of antenna radiation patterns in radars SAR
  • Hernando Fernández, Francisco Javier
    Ingeniero Técnico Industrial en Electrónica Industrial. Responsable del departamento de ensayos eléctricos y electrónicos de Ficosa International desde 2005. Profesionalmente ha realizado toda la experiencia en el desarrollo de electrónica en el sector de automoción. Participa en el Posgrado en Electricidad y Electrónica del Automóvil ELTICA en el módulo de validación de sistemas eléctricos y electrónicos.
  • Ibáñez Abad, Juan de Dios
    Licenciado en Ingeniería Superior de Telecomunicaciones por la UPC. Actualmente realiza su actividad profesional en el Centro Técnico de SEAT en el departamento de Desarrollo Eléctrico. Experto en buses de comunicación, protocolos de transporte y diagnosis y herramientas de test en el ámbito de la automoción.
  • Laborda Berzal, José María
    Ingeniero Superior en Telecomunicaciones por la Universidad de Granada. Test Manager & Focal Point de la unidad de Automoción y Aero-Defensa en el departamento Electrical & Electronics en Applus+ LGAI (Barcelona).
  • Magariño Barreto, Carolina

    Ingeniería Técnica de Telecomunicaciones, especialidad en Sistemas de Telecomunicación en la Escuela Politécnica Superior de Castelldefels, Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (UPC). Actualmente trabaja en Centro Técnico SEAT. Analista de Compatibilidad Electromagnética en el departamento de Desarrollo Eléctrico. Ha trabajado en Applus. Técnico Analista de Compatibilidad Electromagnética, en Advanced Automotive Antennas (FICOSA): Ingeniero de Producto en proyectos de automoción con el grupo PSA en Nortel Networks. Documentación y mantenimiento de los equipos del laboratorio (servidores SUN) y realizando de pruebas con equipos Wireless (iPAQ´s) y en Marconi Iberia S.A. Preparación de anteproyectos y documentación final de equipos multiplexadores SDH y cartografías de MSV-5 y de Estaciones Base.

  • Merino Rodríguez, Antonio
    Industrial Engineer Electrical branch for specialty electronics EUITIB. Since 1986 works at the SEAT Technical Centre in electrical development having held various responsibilities within the electronic area. He is currently Head of Electromobility and Energy Systems at the SEAT Technical Centre. He has collaborated with UPC and STA in various training programs, conferences, technical seminars and Masters.
  • Olid i Dominguez, Bernat
    Technical Telecommunications engineer in Image and Sound specialty at the UPC, and master degree in Architectural and Environmental Acoustics at La Salle. Since 2011 he works at SEAT Technical Center in the Electric-Electronics development department, developing loudspeakers and Sound systems mainly for Audi cars. He has collaborated in the Master degree ELTICA since 2012 teaching the Sound lecture in Infotainment's module.

    Ingeniero Técnico Eléctrico, especialidad Electrónica. Ha trabajado como analista en el área de Procesos dentro del sector de la automoción, y posteriormente dentro del área de I+D, en el desarrollo de dispositivos de iluminación y señalización. Actualmente, es responsable del grupo "Desarrollo Iluminación", en el Centro Técnico de SEAT, S.A.

Issued pursuant to art. 34.1 of Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, amending Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December, concerning Universities. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official or recognized university degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree or diploma. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.For Postgraduate Course:

· Attendance at 80% of theoretical and practical
· Presentation and approval of the Draft Final Report of the Course
· Overcoming test with a score equal to or greater than five.
