Catia V5

Lifelong learning course. Face-to-face.

UPC School
This lifelong learning course is also part of the training track for the master's degree Bodyworks and Automotive Materials.
Shortly we will publish updated information about the new edition of this programme.

In this course students learn how to work with the software CATIA V5 and associated tools in order to model 3D geometries accordingly to the standard work methodologies within the automotive industry. The product 3D geometry is the keystone to design, manage and control the life cycle of the product to be manufactured. By mastering this technique students are able to participate in conceptual design, basic and detailed engineering as well as in production and maintenance of products range, quality control and concurrent engineering processes.

Students who pass this course will be able to:
1. Handle PLM CATIA V5 toolboxes in several disciplines: infrastructure, generation of solids, surfaces and/or planes, assembly generation, as well as in parametric design using Knowlegware or virtual prototyping (DMU).
2. Perform analysis of mass or inertia, as well as distance and interference checks, and superficial quality analysis just to mention a few.

Who is it for?

Graduate students aiming to develop their careers in a socio-economically strategic industry such as the automotive sector.
Professionals who want to redirect his/her career and be part of the technical departments responsible for the bodywork component development.
