UPC School
This lifelong learning course is also part of the training track for the master's degree Bodyworks and Automotive Materials.

The aim of the course is to offer a comprehensive overview of the main external components of the bodywork. The course details the economic, legal and technical requirements to be considered during the design, development, validation and manufacturing processes.


Students who pass this course will be able to:

- Know the main development factors of external body components.
- Describe functionally automobile components.
- Understand legal requirements and apply them to bodywork components design.
- Carry out feasibility studies.
- Understand the technical requirements of each component or group of components.

Who is it for?

Graduate Students from Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, chemical engineering, Science master. Proven experience professionals in automotion field.

1. Structural design of mobile element.
2. Functional elements project.
3. Door panels and hatchback project.
4. Mobile element validation.
5. Upper external finishes.
6. Lower external finishes.
7. Glazing and cleaning system.

    Doctor en Ingeniería de Proyectos por la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Licenciado en Química por la Universitat de Barcelona, especializado en Ciencia de Materiales. Colaborador de la Cátedra SEAT/UPC del 2007 al 2012. Profesor asociado en el Departamento de Ingeniería de Proyectos y Construcción de la UPC.

    Head of external Trim services at the Technical Centre of SEAT

    Head of Experimention of Moving Body Components at the Technical Centre of SEAT

    Head of the team responsible for the development of Moving Components at the Technical Centre of SEAT
  • Sánchez Castillo, Juan Antonio
    Graduate in mechanical Engineering at EUETIB (UPC). Bachelor degree in mechanical Engineering at ETSEIB (UPC). Master in product design and creation at UPC. He comes from SEAT's apprentice school. He works at SEAT's Technical Center since 1988 at different areas of interiors experimentation as head of service at outdoor experimentation, interiors experimentation and actually at project department as head of service of interior door panels development at SEAT's Technical Center.

Issued pursuant to art. 34.1 of Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, amending Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December, concerning Universities. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

The students on this Lifelong learning course will have access to the My_Tech_Space virtual campus, an effective work and communication platform for students, lecturers and course directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space allows students to find background material for their classes, to work in teams, ask their lecturers questions, consult their marks, etc.
Employment service
Students can access job offers in their field of specialisation on the My_Tech_Space virtual campus. Applications made from this site will be treated confidentially. Hundreds of offers appear annually of the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development Employment service .The offers range from formal contracts to work placement agreements.
