UPC School
This lifelong learning course is also part of the training track for the postgraduate course Bodyworks and Automotive Materials.

This course is an introduction to project management in the automotive sector and basic concepts and tools for developing the student's skills. During this course are presented the most relevant concepts on the formulation and preparation of projects and their scheduling and control techniques. Besides, students work with different models and tools for setting personal and professional goals, time management and teamwork. Finally, students learn some communication techniques, both oral and written, to develop this relevant skill.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

1. Understand the different stages of the automobile development project.
2. Understand the project organization and how that is related to organizational structures and stakeholders’ functions.
3. Identify users of the project system as well as functional and service requirements
4. Establish criteria for decision taking and be able to plan viability studies
5. Set lexis and a common understanding of definitions, terms and basic concepts related to project management
6. Set personal and professional targets
7. Know creativity techniques useful in the field of project development
8. Improve the student’s communication skills, both oral as for writing technical documents

Who is it for

Graduate students in Automotive, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Product Design or equivalent.
Working professionals or experienced in the automotive industry.

Issued pursuant to art. 34.1 of Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, amending Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December, concerning Universities. To obtain this degree it is necessary to have an official or recognized university degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree or diploma. Otherwise, the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya will only award them a a certificate of completion.

The students on this Lifelong learning course will have access to the My_Tech_Space virtual campus, an effective work and communication platform for students, lecturers and course directors and coordinators. My_Tech_Space allows students to find background material for their classes, to work in teams, ask their lecturers questions, consult their marks, etc.
