Presentation

17th EDITION
UPC School
This lifelong learning course is also part of the training track for the postgraduate course Maintenance of Equipment and Installations.

Aims

  • To provide maintenance technicians with comprehensive knowledge in industrial installations and techniques to be able to avoid breakdowns using proper testing and diagnostics.
  • To offer the means and knowledge needed to resolve breakdowns quickly and safely.

Content

Subjects

Installations and Electric Equipment Maintenance
4 ECTS. 39 teaching hours.
  • Mechanical elements and systems. Mechanisms and types of failure. • Root cause analysis.
  • Lubrication: Fundamentals. Properties and types of lubricants. Analytical techniques applicable to industrial oils: Spectrometry, Ferrography, Particle count. Basic physical-chemical tests: Viscosity, Flash point, ash content, alkalinity and acidity, Water content, dielectric strength.
  • Interpretation of real lubrication laboratory analysis reports. Updating and execution of the lubrication plan in a beverage packaging plant. Study of real results based on established control ratios (KPI).
