Academic management

  • Bellmunt Chiva, Jordi
    Architect by the School of Architecture of Barcelona - ETSAB architect in 1980, since 1982 is professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (UPC). Since 1987 is Professor of the Master of Landscape Architecture (UPC) and since 2000 is its director. From 2000 to 2006, is director of the Higher Certificate in Landscape of the UPC. It is part of the scientific committee of the Paesaggio Architettura journals, Paisea, PaiseaDos, Paysage, Kore and Paisajismo. He is a member of the scientific committee of EURAU'08 (European Congress of Architectural and Urban Research), 'Paisajes 08' and Expopaisaje 2014. Organizes the six European Landscape Biennials of Barcelona. Is a visiting Professor at various university campuses worldwide. He works as an architect and landscape designer. Exhibits and publishes his work in various specialized media and books and articles. He has won major awards throughout his career.

Teaching staff

  • Batlle Durany, Enric
    Architect, PhD in architecture in 2002 with the thesis recently published by GG entitled 'The Garden of the Metropolis' and Professor in the Department of Urbanism and Regional Planning of ETSAV. He's specialized in landscaping and has given numerous lectures worldwide. In 1981, together with Joan Roig, creates BATLLE Y ROIG ARQUITECTES, an architectural firm that develops building projects, planning and landscape. His work has won awards both state and international level.
  • Franch Batllori, Martí
    Matrí Franch Batllori, arquitecto del Paisaje (Hons) por la Universidad de Greenwich (UK) e Ingeniero Técnico Agrícola por la UPC. En 1999 funda Estudi Martí Franch arquitectura del paisaje. Los proyectos de EMF han estado reconocidos con diversos premios y publicados internacionalmente. Desde 2001 es profesor de proyectos de paisaje en la UPC y la UAB. Ha impartido clases en el RMIT Maelbourne, ENSP Versailles y AB Amsterdam. Actualmente es Miembro del Consejo de Administración de la Escuela Superior de Paisaje de Versailles y asesor de la Revista Paisea.
  • García García, Miriam
    Arquitecta por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (1998), Técnico Urbanista por el Instituto Nacional de la Administración Pública (2005), investigadora invitada del Departamento de Arquitectura de Paisaje de la Universidad de Pennsylvania (2015). Jefe de servicio de Urbanismo y Ordenación del Territorio (1999-2003) y Directora General (2003-2007) del Gobierno de Cantabria y en la actualidad dirige Land Lab, laboratorio de Paisajes, con sede en Madrid. Sus trabajos han sido premiados nacional e internacionalmente, como el Premio de la Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo (2013). Ha sido profesora invitada del Departamento de Arquitectura de Paisaje de la Universidad de Pennsylvania y es profesora de la Universidad de Zaragoza y del Instituto Nacional de Administración Pública. Asimismo, es ponente habitual de diferentes cursos y talleres relacionados con el paisaje y la planificación y autora de numerosas publicaciones.
  • Tenez Ybern, Victor
    Landscape Architect who studied architecture in Barcelona. He combines teaching, private and public practice. He has been Head of Coordination of Urban Planning in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and directed the plan of reclamation of fluvial spaces. He teaches Landscape Theory and Landscape Design at the UPC in the same city. He has been invited by several Urban Planning and Landscape Universities like Penn or UIA Venezia and publishes on the same issues.
