The Open Talent session on "Bicing as a public service. Risks and opportunities from the perspective of the City Council", with Ignasi Armengol, managing Director of BSM Barcelona Servicios Municipales, will take place in the Tech Talent Center (c/Badajoz, 73, Barcelona) at 7:00 pm on Tuesday 10 February, 2015.
When a government authority decides to launch a new public service that did not previously exist, it must consider a range of questions and challenges that it must resolve prior to the tender and the provision of the service. The case of Bicing is a good example of how the initial approach has evolved and been adapted to new needs as a public service. We will find out about the risks and opportunities that Barcelona City Council has had to face with the creation of this new municipal bicycle sharing service. In January 2015, Bicing will also add new electric Bicing services, which those attending can find out about first hand in this session.
