Date: 11-06-2015
Timetable: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Tech Talent Center (Badajoz, 73. Barcelona)

The Open Talent session on "Text analytics in business: techniques and cases of use", with the data scientist Toni Cebrián, will take place at the Tech Talent Center (c/Badajoz 73, Barcelona) at 7 pm on Thursday 11 June.

In this lecture, Cebrián will be discussing current techniques in machine learning and data mining for processing free text. Free text means text created by people for consumption by other people, which may include descriptions, comments, tweets; but from which we want to extract information to process it algorithmically. He will be talking about all this in the Open Talent session, giving examples of techniques used in real cases in Internet companies where he has worked.

The speaker

Toni Cebrián holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the UPC. He has 15 years of experience developing software in telecommunications and Internet companies. In recent years he has focused on developing intelligent recommendation and selection systems for advertising. He has worked as a Data Scientist at companies including Telefónica, Tuenti, Softonic and he currently works at Enerbyte, a start-up specializing in the analysis of power consumption data to generate intelligent recommendations for energy saving, where he is Chief Data Officer (CDO).
