Sustainable Urbanism
10 ECTS. 60 teaching hours.
The course programme is an introduction to the concepts of territorial and urban sustainability; its origins and evolution, references and strategies, and its applications when planning territorial systems. The course also covers subjects such as urban models and sustainability, the historical evolution of land occupation models: Compact City vs. Dispersed City and the principles of ecological town planning and the entropy of urban systems, organizations, etc. As well as concepts such as climate change, new perspectives and urban resilience. Another concept is that of sustainable cities; materials, energy, balanced use of materials in urban planning systems and their interaction with the environment, air, acoustic and other types of pollution, mobility, green systems and energy; use and transformation of materials, polluting emissions, inter-city and environmental energy flows.
