Automation of Systems

Postgraduate course. Face-to-face.

Presentation

17th EDITION
UPC School
This postgraduate course is also part of the training track for the  Mechatronics and the  Enertronics.

Nobody could question that among the major challenges facing humanity is the challenge of providing a solution to energy systems. Our future largely depends on our ability to identify and manage future energy techniques. Electronic, IT and communication technologies must be included in the design of the energy systems of the coming years. This innovative concept, which enables integrated solutions to be identified, has been termed Enertronics.

This is a concept which brings together different technologies in topics such as power electronics, communications automation, electrical systems energy, and programming and microprocessor technologies, all of which are aspects which companies require from their professionals. Nowadays organisations require the figure of the enertronic engineer who, when thinking of a solution to an energy system, also takes the electrical part or the bit microprocessor programming into account.

This postgraduate course in Automation and Systems is part of the Masters programme and offers information on hydraulic and pneumatic actuators, an introduction on industrial programmable controllers and on applying these as well as on information technologies and industrial communications.

Aims

  • The integration of mechanics, electricity, electronics and information technologies into the design of components, equipment and mechanical systems to be able to make better products.
  • A better understanding of materials and processes.
  • Learn about the latest trends and information related to new materials and processes.

Who is it for

  • Industrial engineers or other technicians that work in the design and development of industrial systems.
  • Recent graduates who wish to work in the areas mentioned above (preferably students specialised in mechanical or electrical engineering).
