The Center for Image and Multimedia Technology (CITM-UPC) organizes the 3rd edition of the Indie Games Terrassa Congress, which will take place on Friday, December 12, at the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce. This edition of the congress will emphasize narrative in independent video games.
Morning agenda:
- 09:15 h - 09:45 h: Opening keynote: "From the Indiepocalypse to the Indieverse: A Format Leap Toward Sustainable Creation", by Luca Carrubba, researcher, digital culture expert, and co-director of ArsGames.
- 09:15 h – 13:00 h. 2nd Symposium on Research in the Indie Video Game Industry. Presentation of academic papers and projects related to independent video games.
- 10:00 h – 12:00 h: Workshop: "Author or Collaborator? How AI is Transforming Narrative", led by Joan Alegret, CTO of eShodo Studio. Registrations here.
- 10:00 h – 12:00 h: Workshop: "Worldbuilding of Spaces that Generate Stories", led by Inés Alcolea, writer and narrative design specialist. Registrations here.

- 15:00 h – 16:00 h. Talk: "Narrative Design is a Battlefield: Hard-Learned Lessons and Subjective Thoughts", by Alexandre Boiret, Lead Narrative Designer at 11 bit studios.
- 16:00 h – 17:00 h: Conference "Music as an Invisible Narrator in Video Games", given by Victormame, composer and pianist.
- 16:10 h – 17:00 h: Interview and networking space with various professionals from the independent video game ecosystem. Pre-registration here.
- 17:00h – 18:00h. Talk: "Character Creation for Narrative Games", by Ava Draw, writer and streamer.
- 18:00h – 19:00h: Interview and networking space with various professionals from the independent video game ecosystem. Pre-registration here.
- 19:00 h – 20:00 h. Round table: "Narrative in Indie Video Game Creation", with writer Inés Alcolea, Félix G. Ríos (Lead Narrative Designer at Epictellers), Esther Fernández Palou (QA Analyst Gameplay & Narrative at Alkimia Interactive) and Laura Ripoll (Game Developer at Endflame).
- 20:00h – 21:00h. Final networking session of the Congress with all attendees.
In addition, between the various talks, participants will have the opportunity to hold individual interviews with the speakers and other industry professionals, fostering direct contact and the exchange of experiences.
Indie Games TRS is an initiative by the CITM with the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Cambra de Comerç de Terrassa. Its goal is to promote local indie talent, strengthen ties between the industry and academia, and encourage innovation in the video game sector.
