Why this postgraduate course?
Environmental control in Architecture by natural means is possible using either passive means or active means. Passive systems are directly related to the design of the Architecture, taking full advantage of the output of the surrounding energies. Active systems turn natural energies into energy in order to achieve a result in Architecture. This applies to renewable energies such as solar thermal, photovoltaic, wind and geothermal energy, which will be covered in this module.

The presence of items generating energy from renewable sources and their integration in the design ensures energy is supplied to the project whenever this is necessary. The postgraduate program in Renewable Energy in Architecture cover the Architecture project from the point of view of climate, to obtain an appropriate result which requires the least amount of energy to be operational.

Aims
  • To train technical specialists with a knowledge of natural and artificial conditioning techniques in architecture, who are able to select the most suitable energy systems for specific cases of buildings and their surroundings, design the general specifications of those systems, and integrate them formally and technically in the overall concept of the architectural project
Who is it for?
  • Architects, technical architects and engineers interested in obtaining a high degree of specialisation in the application of renewable energies in architecture.
  • Other university professionals that need to broaden their knowledge in this field.
